Croque-Monsieur Class

Somewhere between French and American cuisine lies the realm of French bar or café food, with the croquet-monsieur sandwich reigning supreme. Good croque-monsieurs have a few things in common: a single layer of French ham and Gruyere pressed between two thin slices of bread.

We will fill ours with a béchamel, then grill to perfection. Match with a simple green salad and we have a satisfying lunch.
