Customer Service

JOB DESCRIPTION

Want to impress people in the Upper Valley? Tell them you work the Seafood counter of the Hanover Co-op. (Trust us, it has a mystique!) In this position you'll help customers with their seafood purchases—answering questions and delivering top-notch service. And this job comes with some great benefits.

Other Tasks Include:

  • Showcase an extensive knowledge of products, vendors, and cooking/preparation recommendations.
  • Clean assigned areas to maintain safe and sanitary conditions.
  • Stock products to give a full, pleasing appearance on shelves or display areas.
  • Maintain operation of the department when the manager is unavailable.
  • Direct the work of others on occasion.
  • Price products and make price changes in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Reset sections to accommodate new products or to discontinue slower selling items.
  • Maintain high in-stock levels without excessive back stock.
  • Work with Merchandising colleagues to order products from suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. comfortably on a regular basis.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Full Time Flexible Hours
    (40 Hours)
  • Some Weekends and Evenings

Seafood Dept. / Hanover
Department Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

People come from all over to shop our Seafood Departments—famous for great service and the best seafood around. As our ideal Department Specialist, your know-how and friendly demeanor will lead the way. You'll thrive in the spirit and charm of the old-fashioned New England seafood counter, where your job will be to order products and provide customers with exceptional service based on your expertise. And this job comes with some great benefits.

Other Tasks Include:

  • Showcase an extensive knowledge of products, vendors, and cooking/preparation recommendations.
  • Act as backup for meat counter.
  • Adhere to all food safety SOPs and Co-op policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance standards for ordering, managing, and adjusting inventory.
  • Use handhelds to operate systems.
  • Verify accuracy of orders and inventory.
  • Create purchase orders upon receipt of product.
  • Monitor and ensure the proper flow of invoices.
  • Preload worksheets for monthly inventory.
  • Perform department and store-to-store inventory transfers.
  • Verify and adjust negatives on hand from daily inventory.
  • Consult with Meat/Seafood Manager on planning and execution of job for assigned area.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School or equivalent
  • ServSafe Certification (training provided)
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. comfortably on a regular basis
  • Standing for long periods, reaching, bending, lifting, twisting, grasping, cutting, and carrying
