Hooray for Hot Dogs!

North Country Smokehouse
Original Delicatessen Franks

Made with only the highest quality beef and pork– no fillers – seasoned with garlic and onion. These are hot dogs made the way your great-grandparents enjoyed them.

Available At
Lebanon & White River Jct.—Meat Dept.

Thousand Hills
100% Grass-fed Beef Dogs

For all you beef-loving hot dog aficionados, you won't find anything better than these plump, delicious hot dogs. Brought to us by a farm we know and love and trust to bring us only the best.

Available At
Hanover, Lebanon & White River Jct.—Meat Dept.

Looking for something else? We recommend the sweet, delicious uncured beef hot dogs from Boar's Head or the beef and pork franks from Deutchmacher. (PRO TIP #1: Deutchmacher dogs are hard to find in the Upper Valley! But we've got 'em.)

Legendary Burgers Start Here

Great burgers start with one thing: great ground beef. We recommend the fresh ground beef from Robie Farm—Piermont, NH, and the fresh ground beef from Boyden Farm—Cambridge, VT.

Ground by experienced butchers and meat cutters in an artisan tradition that's harder and harder to find these days.

Available At
Hanover, Lebanon & White River Jct.—Meat Dept.

Other Burger Options
If local isn't your thing, we recommend the pre-packed and ready-made burgers from our friends at Pineland Farms in Maine. Also try our store-made burgers in bacon cheddar, portobello/blue cheese, or plain varieties.

Ridiculously Good Ribs

Think Missouri has the market cornered on great ribs? Think again! Our friends at Black River Meats—North Springfield, VT, and Robie Farm—Piermont, NH, supply some of the best ribs you've ever tasted.

We carry them in St. Louis and baby back pork ribs style, which grill up tender and flavorful.

Available At
Hanover, Lebanon & White River Jct.—Meat Dept.

Superb Sausage

PRO TIP #2: Want to up your barbecue game? Grill local sausages! Your guests and neighbors will always be expecting beef and chicken, so sausage is a juicy, succulent treat.

Try the local sausage from Vermont Salumi—Barre, VT, and Black River Meats—North Springfield, VT.

Available At
Hanover, Lebanon & White River Jct.—Meat Dept.

As always, if local doesn't grab you, we have other recommendations. Try the Smart Chicken Organic Chicken Sausages or the delicious sausages from Niman Ranch.

Beautifully Baked Breads

King Arthur Bakery-Norwich, VT

PRO TIP #3: Don't skimp on the rolls and hamburger buns! Plenty of people put a lot into choosing meats and veggies for the grill, then make the mistake of using dry, flavorless, cheaply made hamburger buns and breads.

We recommend the brioche burger rolls and kaiser rolls from our friends at King Arthur Bakery—Norwich, VT, the sandwich buns from the legendary Klinger's—South Burlington, VT, and the burger buns from La Panciata—Northfield, VT.

Available At
Hanover, Lebanon & White River Jct.—Bakery Dept.

Local Pies

Saxy Chef-Keene, NH

PRO TIP #4: Great pies! Dessert is another thing that's easy to forget, but nothing makes a BBQ sing like a sweet finisher. What's great about pies is that tangy fruit pairs well with the bold flavors of BBQ.

We suggest the Double Cherry Pie from Saxy Chef in Keene, NH, and the Strawberry Rhubarb from Red Door Bakery in Marshfield, VT.

Available At
Hanover, Lebanon & White River Jct.—Bakery Dept.

Local Veggies

Maclennan Farm Asparagus

MacLennan Farm asparagus (due in stores late May), grown in Windsor, VT, and Killdeer Farm organic spinach, grown in Norwich, VT, are both long-time Co-op customer favorites. Crisp and perfect and with great taste and texture.

The season goes fast, especially for asparagus, so enjoy it now while you can!

Available At
Hanover, Lebanon & White River Jct.—Produce Dept.
