Little-known fact: the modern holiday party has its roots in ancient Rome, when an emperor once held an ugly-sweater party for a gathering of festive gladiators. Today, your boss might try to have a fun holiday office party, with bonding exercises and white elephant gifts, but don’t you just count the zeptoseconds until you can go home? The food is meh, the punch is even worse, and that guy from Accounting always comes dressed as Cousin Eddie, which is super cringy.
Fortunately, we have the cure for the boring seasonal shindig: our annual holiday sampling events! Three nights in a row, one party in each food store, featuring tons of delicious free samples all over the place. It’s the perfect way to explore new tastes, meet local producers, and get inspired for your holiday gatherings! These parties have been an Upper Valley tradition for more than 20 years. People come from all over to enjoy the good food and fellowship.
