Other than maybe beer, nothing has been watered down and adulterated over time like chocolate. (Listen to the sound of our tears as they flow like rushing river water.) Chocolate was once an incredible taste experience, marked by the individual nuances found naturally in cocoa beans. Then chocolate bars were churned out fast and without care, loaded with sugar and corn syrup and low-quality beans that were often harvested through plantation slave labor.
Our friends at Loon follow the time-honored tradition of hand-crafting artisan chocolate bars in small batches with distinctive flavor profiles. They only work with small-scale farmers and ethical traders, starting with beans shipped to them raw. After hand-sorting only the finest beans, they roast, shell, and stone-grind them for more than 72 hours and then blend the beans with organic sugar and a touch of organic cocoa butter.
Our recommendation? Start with the Lion’s Mane and Chaga Chai bars—made with locally harvested Dunk’s Mushrooms!
