Star Wars Day Staff Pick: Fiddleheads!

Star Wars Day is today. Woo-hoo! If you named your pet ferret Anakin and own a lightsaber keychain (I mean, who doesn’t?), then we have the perfect addition to your May the 4th watch party—local fiddleheads! Trust us, their earthy flavor and “wild forest” look are perfect for an Ewok-inspired spread. You’ll feel like you’re on the Forest Moon of Endor!

Watch Party Prep:

  • Clean: Trim the ends and rinse away the papery husks. (It’s like exfoliating a fern!)
  • Boil: Boil in salted water for 7–10 minutes. Do not skip this. If you do, you’ll feel sicker than a Stormtrooper with the Iridian Plague, and that’s a real mood-killer for a movie marathon.
  • Sauté: Hit them with garlic, soy sauce, and sesame seeds for a snack that even a Wookiee would love.
