Local & Regional Products List

**Updated 5/17/24**
Spring has sprung and MacLennan Farm asparagus has arrive at our stores! This seasonal staple is a great addition to any meal or salad, and it’s particularly great for grilling. If Mother Nature cooperates we should have MacLennan asparagus on hand through early June, making it a great option for Memorial Day celebrations.

We’re also enjoying the first organic bunched red radishes of the season from Root 5 Farm. With a spicy, sharp taste, these bright red orbs will take your spring salads to the next level! And if you prefer a milder crunch on your salad try Root 5’s bunched Japanese salad turnips. They offer a similar crunchy texture as the radish, but with a sweeter more delicate flavor. And, unlike other turnips, these little guys can be eaten without cooking!

What Local Means to Us

Long before "local" was incorporated into the positioning statement of every giant discount megastore, it was a cornerstone to the work of food cooperatives.

Like the organic and green movements, the local movement had an early champion in food co-ops, who for decades have been touting the need to preserve networks of small family farms and independent food producers.
